FabFitFun Winter Box Review/Unboxing

Hello All and Welcome back!

First, let me start by saying I'm sorry that there was no new blog last week but with it being Christmas I wanted to take the time to spend it with loved ones I don't get to see regularly. I hope you understand and had a wonderful Christmas as well!!

So for today I have my review/unboxing for my Winter FabFitFun box! This box is shipped every season and this is my second one. If you missed my Fall box review you can check it out here.

Like last time I am going to follow how the catalog lists them! (I took a sneak peak at a few things and I am SUPER EXCITED!)

Let's get started!

e.l.f. Spotlight Ready Palette: Review

 Hey all!!

So today I have a review for you! I recently picked up this e.l.f. Spotlight Ready Palette on a whim. I paid $15 bucks for 50 colors. 40 eyeshadows and 10 blushes/bronzers.

Maybelline: Lip Gloss Palette Review

Hey all!!! Welcome back!

Today I have a quick review for you on the new Maybelline Lip Gloss Palette.

Now I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss but this palette has won me over! There are 8 shades from a  nude pink to a dark red brown.

Let's get started!

November Favorites

Hey All! Welcome Back!

Can you believe November is already over! So much has happened this month. I left my job that I had been at for six years to start a new career which I am very excited to start that journey. I became an affiliate with a sports company (you can find their link and a 10% discount code below) and my Revlon Ultra HD: Matte Lipstick Review was featured on Catablog.co.uk

Even though November was crazy busy I was still able to find time to try some new products that I have used religiously throughout this month!

Drugstore Makeup Haul: Face Products

Well hello there lovelies!

So a few weeks back I went to multiple drugstores and bought a few things to try out. Some products were new for me to try and the rest were just new in general

Since I don't want this post being a novel I am going to split it up in to two maybe three posts. Today's post is on Face Products.

Lets jump in!

Sally Hansen: Miracle Gel Review

Hey All!!

Today I have a review on Sally Hansen: Miracle Gel Nail Polish.

This nail polish is AMAZING. When I would use other nail polishes they would chip within two days of painting them... sometimes within hours. With these I can go about 11 days with no chips and by two weeks there are some chips but not the type where half the coat is gone and you look like you've been trying to dig a hole with your hands.

November Box Showdown

Hey All!!

It's time for my November Box Showdown! Basically I will compare my Ipsy Glam Bag, Birchbox and Boxy Charm and pick the winner based on what I am most excited about. I will take in to consideration if I will actually use the products included in the boxes and give a mini review or first impression. If you didn't catch it last month make sure to check out my October Box Showdown which also gives an overview of each "box".

Lets get started!

Revlon Ultra HD: Matte Lipsticks Review

Hey all!!!!

Welcome back! So today I have a review of the new Revlon Ultra HD: Matte Lipsticks. These six colors were NOT easy to find. I had to go to four different stores to get all six but I have to say they are worth it!

Liebster Award

Hey all!

So I was nominated for the Liebster award by Phoebe from Phoebe Giggles and Tiffany from Tiffany May. Thank you wonderful ladies very much for the nomination. I will be answering 5 questions from Phoebe and 5 questions from Tiffany.

The rules are as follows:
  1. Once you have been nominated, be sure to thank the nominator and leave a link to their blog;
  2. Include the Liebster Award sticker as well;
  3. Nominate 10 bloggers with 200 followers or less;
  4. Answer your nominator's 10 questions and in turn create 10 questions of your own for your nominees;
  5. Notify your nominees via a comment on their blog.

Let's get started!

October Favorites

Hey All! Welcome Back!

Can you believe October is over? This month seriously flew by!

So to be honest I don't have a lot of favorite make-up products this month. I would have included the Colour Pop gel liners but I have only used them a few times so far since they just recently launched. (I am loving them by the way!) This month's favorites are a random assortment of things.

October Box Showdown

Hey All!

Today I have my October Box Showdown! I will be comparing my Birchbox, Ipsy, and Boxycharm boxes/bags. I want to say sorry in advance this is going to be a longer post.

Each “box” has its’ own unique “it” factor. So here is a basic break down of each:

Birchbox: $10.00 a month with 5 samples of products. Each product you can provide a review for which gives you 10 Birchbox points that you can spend on their website for products. (100 points = $10). You can use your points on whatever on the website (They do expire a year from the date of when you get them). These samples are customized to you and how you fill out the personal profile quiz.

Ipsy: $10.00 a month with 5 samples sometimes full size products. Like Birchbox you can receive points for reviewing the products; which you can use the points in the Ipsy rewards section. By reviewing products it helps to make your Ipsy bag better customized to you and what you will use. To begin you fill out your beauty profile so they know what to send to you. These products come in a cute makeup bag that fits the theme of the month.

Boxycharm: $21.00 a month with 5 Full size products. Every box I have received from them has been over $100. Unfortunately you don’t get to pick what products you receive which can suck if you receive something that isn’t your skin tone but hey it can make a good gift to give someone!

So to start I will give an overview of what is in each “box” with either a review or a first impression and then at the very end I will pick the winner or one that I am most excited about for the month.

IPSY:

Crown brush: C224 Oval Concealer- This appears to be full size. On the Crown Brush website they have the retail value at $7.45 but they are selling it at $2.98. I am always down for a new brush so I can’t wait to try this!
Vasanti: Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator Exfoliating Cleanser- This is a sample size but the full size retails at $34. I already have a cleanser that I am pretty satisfied with but I am willing to try this one out.

Ayres: Hand Cream Pampas Sunrise- This is a 0.7 oz sample. The full size is 1.4 oz. and retails at $12.50.  I don’t like judging a product but its packaging but the label was on sideways so of course I had to try it first. I don’t mind the smell but I can’t say that I am in love with it. It left my hands feeling oily. They best way I can describe the sensation is like you have very sweaty hands.

The Balm: Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Committed- This is a sample size 0.04 Fl. Oz. The full size retails at $17.00. Committed is a very pretty brownish mauve color that is very pigmented. It does have a minty smell which I’m not sure how I feel about but the color is that beautiful that I could probably look past it.

Aurora New York: Nail Lacquer in Inky Dinky (136)- The nail polish looks black in the bottle but it is actually a deep Purple which is perfect for Fall. This is a full size product that retails at $12.00 but they have it marked down to $8.99.

BIRCHBOX:

Manna Kadar Cosmetics: Priming Gloss Stain in Lcuky- I actually received this in my FABFITFUN box for the fall. The one that came in this box was only a sample size. Full size retails at $24.00. It is a very pretty color but the formulation can be a bit sticky at times but not to the point where food particles or hair gets stuck in it.

Avene: Thermal Spring Water- This is a 1.76 oz. sample size. The full size is 5.29 oz. and retails $12.50. This mist is to be used for dryness and irritation especially to soothe sunburn or stinging.

BioRepublic: Cucumber Breeze Soothing Mask- I received one mask which I would say is a “sample size” even though it is a full size mask. In the full size there are 3 masks which retail at $14.50. I’m not a huge fan of things that are cucumber scented so I’m not sure I am going to enjoy this mask.

Stila: Huge Extreme Lash Mascara- This sample I actually picked to be included in my box. I was pleasantly surprised buy it. The full size retails at $23.00. Despite me liking it I don’t think I will be buying the full size but the sample size is perfect for traveling.

Oribe: Texturizing Spray- I wish I could give a review but it wasn’t included in my box even though the card that came with it said it was in there and my online profile said it was in my October box too. This is the first time this has ever happened.

BOXYCHARM:

Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask- This is a full size product that is supposed to purify skin and cleanse pores while protecting from free radicals. It costs $64.00! That is expensive for a mask but I am looking forward to trying it out!

Doucce: Punk Volumizer Mascara- This is a full size product that retails for $24.00. The brush is HUGE so I’m not sure if I am going to like it but I will give it a try.

Bellapierre: Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral- I am a fan of Bellapierre products and this full size product that retails for $19.99 is no exception. I prefer it as a lip stain but it would make a very beautiful cheek stain.

Lord & Berry: Line/Shade Eyeliner in Dark Black #221- From the swatch that I took it is very pigmented and blends very easy, so hopefully it will be perfect for a smokey eye. This is a full size product that costs $18.00. I am really excited to try this one out since I have been on the hunt for a good eyeliner.

Cult Cosmetics: Nail Polish in Boneyards #CC9- This full size product is a beautiful grey that is vegan-friendly and ethically made. It retails for $12.00 This is a perfect color for the fall.

Overall this month none of the “boxes” made me extremely excited that I needed to try everything inside immediately. The boxes each had products that I am looking forward to trying and each had one that I tthink I will be passing along.

So based on the amount of products that I will realistically use in the box I have to say that Boxycharm is the winner for this month. (it has nothing to do with getting full size products) I can see myself using all five products unlike the other two boxes where there are a few things that didn’t work or that I wouldn’t use.

I hope you all enjoyed and I will have another box showdown in November!

Until Next time :)

Eyeko: London Mascara: Lengthen & Straighten Review

Hey all!!

Today I have a review of Eyeko London Mascara: Lengthen & Straighten. I received this mascara in a Birchbox a couple months ago. I was very excited to see it in there because I love me a good Mascara. This one is priced at $28.00.

My First Impressions: aka thoughts I had while opening it

"This is in a tube... that's different."

"OH LOOK!! A Guitar pick! Wait why did they send me a guitar pick?"

"OHHHHHHH just kidding it's an eye shield to prevent smudges... Now how do I hold it?"

"Well this is just awkward."

Let's just say there is no easy way to hold the guitar pick I mean eye shield and apply the mascara. Mainly because the brush is GINORMOUS. The picture above does not do it justice. The eye shield may protect your eye but it does not protect your fingers holding it.

I feel at this point it is kind of obvious that I did not have a good experience with this mascara so I'll just say I strongly disliked it... for several reasons.

1. The brush size- it is just too big.

2. The formulation is sticky. I had to keep separating my eyelashes the entire time I had it on.

3. It gets EVERY WHERE when you go to take it off. It clumps up in little balls and gets in places you never wanted mascara to be. It went up my nose! How does that even happen!

4. I was not overly wowed once it was on. It didn't make my eyelashes look longer or straight. (not sure why anyone would want straight lashes to begin with but to each their own)

I'm sorry if this is anyones holy grail but it just didn't cut it for me. This is also the only Eyeko mascara I have tried so maybe I just need to try another style.

One mascara that I do love for lengthening lashes is Loreal Voluminous False lashes and it's just the right price!

I hope you guys found this review useful and again I'm sorry if this is one of your must have's.

Thanks for reading and until next time!!!

Nailhur:Nicole Nails Review

Hey all!!!!

So today I have a review for you! I recently purchased Nailhur: Nicole Nails. Youtuber Nicole Guerriero partnered with Nailhur and created five different colors/designs.

As you can tell I already tried out two sets. I am not the person who goes out and gets their nails done a lot so these seemed like the perfect solution because I do like a fancy nail.

Overall, I enjoyed these nails. They were easy to apply for the most part. I did struggle with the last nail but it isn't noticeable that it had a bit of glue on it. They are also easy to remove; just soak your nails in warm water to loosen the glue up and they pop right off. They are also reusable which I love!

The only negative I have is if you have wide nail beds it will be a bit difficult to find enough nails to do both hands.

I recommend these nails especially in a pinch. I had five minutes to get them on before I had leave for a wedding and I was able to do both hands within that time. (I shaped them the night before. That took about 15 minutes)

Nicole and Nailhur have a 65% off code:NicNails

Thanks for reading!!! Until next time!!

FabFitFun Fall Box Review

Hey All!!! Welcome back to my blog!

Today I am going to talk about my fall box from FabFitFun. This is my first box that I have received from them. They deliver four boxes a year; one for each season. It is $49.99 for one box which is kind of pricey but if you follow FabFitFun on any social media they constantly have 10% and 20% codes for when you sign up. They advertise that the box is a $200 value.

So the first thing that caught my eye upon opening the box was their fall edition catalog which gives a description of everything in the box as well as a more in depth behind the scenes of certain products.

Just for organization purposes I am going to list off the products in the order that the catalog lists them.

1. Gold Radiance Luxury Facial Mask with Collagen and Rose Oil by Passport to Beauty

I have yet to try these masks out (it comes with two). I think I am going to save them for a pamper day. They are valued at $65

2.FabFitFun x Tappan Collective Umbrella
In case you are having trouble reading what the umbrella says it says Rain Rain Go Away! This umbrella is super cute and living in Ohio you can never have too many of them. This is valued at $32

3. Lucky Lip Stain by Manna Kadar Cosmetics
This is a very pretty color that says it is a 3-in-1 product. This means that it has primer, lip gloss, and lip stain all in it. This is valued at $24

4. 3D White Brilliance 2-Step System by Crest

This is a sponsored item in the box which is basically just a sample. It does not contribute to the overall value of the box.

5. Flawless Skin Fluid by Doctor D. Schwab
I have had the chance to try this and I love the way it has been making my skin feel smooth which out using harsh chemicals. It is a moisturizer that helps to balance and brighten the skin. This is valued at $39

6.Purple Purse Charm by Allstate Foundation Purple Purse

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and this purple charm is to spread awareness. For more information on how you can help the cause go to purplepurse.com

There was no value on this item but it has found it's way on to my purse.

7. HISY Battery Pack

This item is your standard battery pack that is rechargeable and pairs with iPhone and other devices. My battery pack came in purple. This is valued at $24.99

8.Strength Tubing Ankle & Total Body Tone with Tubing: Lower Body & Core DVD by Merrithew

By the time I got to this item I was happy to find the one fitness based product in the box. One of the reasons why I chose to get this box was because of the fitness component. I have yet to try this out but I am looking forward to incorporating it into my fitness routine.

If anyone is interested I can do an update on what I think once I have used it a couple times. Just let me know in the comments section below.

These two items are priced at $33

9. Glass Crystal Bead Bracelet by Tribe Alive

Tribe Alive works with artisan partners all over the world to employ impoverished women by providing them with a sustainable income. Each bracelet was handcrafted by women in Honduras. There was an article about Tribe Alive in the catalog which I found to be very inspiring.

This bracelet is priced at $49

10. Gift Card by Jeweler's Wife

This gift card is good at www.REEDS.Com/Jewelerswife I haven't used it yet but I will certainly let everyone know when I do get something via Instagram and Twitter so go follow me if you haven't yet. Please and Thank you in advance. You're the bees knees

This gift card is valued at $15

11. Gift Card by Picture It On Canvas

I am excited about this gift card! I have been looking for a unique gift to give to my mom this Christmas and when I browsed the Picture It On Canvas website I knew this would be the best gift to give this holiday.

This gift card is valued at $75

Overall I was pretty impressed with this box and I can see myself using everything in it as well as sharing with my friends and family.

Oh and the total value of the box if you haven't been keeping track is..... (insert drum roll here) $357!!!! That is $157 more than what their website says!

I would have to say for $49.99 for this box I got a good deal (I honestly have no idea how they are making money if every season is like this)

Thanks for reading and if you want any updates on any of the above products just let me know below and I will certainly provide them!

Until next time :)

Jaclyn Hill's Fall Favorite Tag

Hey All!!

Teefmay nominated me to do Jaclyn Hill's Fall Favorite Tag. So here are some of my Fall favorites!

My favorite candle has to be Bath and Body Works Caramel Pumpkin Swirl! It smells so great!

Favorite Lip Color: Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain in Sugar: It is the perfect pinky nude and I've been loving a nude lip this fall.

Favorite Drink: Honestly I don't really have a go to drink during the fall :( I tend to drink water 90% of the time but if anyone has some suggestions for a good fall drink let me know I would be willing to try!

Favorite Blush: Colour Pop: Prenup is such a beautiful plum pink and goes nicely with the Cynthia Rowley Sugar!

Favorite Clothing Item: Plaid Shirts! I'll admit it took me a couple years to really get the whole plaid/flannel shirts trend but I'm glad I finally did!

Favorite Fall Movie: Hocus Pocus... Need I say more!

Favorite Fall TV Show: Once Upon A Time. Yes it can be a little cheesy at times but it keeps my entertained. It was a tough choice between Once and Scandal but Once is the one show I will always watch the day it airs and if I miss it I watch it as soon as it is available on Hulu.

Favorite Thanksgiving Food: Pumpkin Pie! I love pumpkin pie especially Frisch's! I actually had a slice tonight after dinner!

Favorite Halloween Costume: Pirate. For a solid 6 years I was a pirate. This year I am going to switch it up and be a black cat but my Pirate costumes hold a special place in my heart and I will more than likely be a pirate in the future! (FYI sorry for the poor quality of the pirate pictures I wasn't able to find the original file so I had to take a picture of the picture #inception)

Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed! Until next time!

Quick Fitness Post

Hey All!!!

So this post was supposed to go up yesterday but of course LIFE happened and I wasn't able to sit down to write anything so for that I am so very sorry. :(

Anyways I want to start out by saying that anything I put in this post are things that I do and enjoy when it comes to a workout. I am in  no way a professional and everything that I have learned I have learned from doing research on the internet as well as posts on instagram. SARAH_BOWMAR is one of my favorites to go to for new ideas to implement in the gym.

I do what I find works for me and that is always changing. My best advice for when it comes to being active is to find what you like and stick with it. Results do not come over night. It takes times and dedication. Don't give up and don't punish yourself if you slip up. We are all humans and it happens; trust me I can't say no to Taco Bell.

My fitness journey started in April of 2014. I was in the worst shape of my life and I had always been active while growing up and then in to college. I swear the after college 15 is a real thing!! but my after college weight gain was around 40 pounds which I am happy to say I have lost. I did not lose it all at once it was a daily struggle but it slowly came off. I did not go on a weight loss journey because I thought I was fat or I was unhappy with myself. I went on the journey because I was tired of buying new clothes so that I had something to fit in to.

Looking back at old pictures I never saw myself as "big" at that time; of course I can see a difference between pictures now and then. I am still happy with my body and I continue to work hard to make sure that I am as healthy as I can be.

My standard workout typically consists of 30-40 minutes of cardio. I enjoy running outside more than on a treadmill but the running app I listen to makes running anywhere go by fast. The app I use is ZombiesRun! If you hate running like I do this app will turn you in a runner! I can't go more than two days without running otherwise I feel like I might snap. This app is interactive, have you ever been chased by man eating lions because I have, and has a great story where you really become attached to the other characters.

After my runs I try to do at least 15-20 minutes of weight lifting. If my schedule allows it I can sometimes go for 30-40 minutes. I make sure to write out everything that I want to accomplish in that time frame.

Here is an example of one of the workouts that I use:

-Upfront W Row = 10 Reps
-Arnold Press = 10 Reps
-Shoulder Press = 10 Reps
-Shoulder Shrug = 10 Reps

Repeat each set 3 times (one set is all four exercises)

Every day changes so that I don't get bored with my workouts.

I hope that this was somewhat interesting and maybe a little helpful. Please feel free to leave any questions below and I will try to answer as best I can or at the very least find out who can answer the question best for you.

September Favorites and First Blog!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to my first post and first blog! For this post I am going to talk about my September favorites so let's get started :)

Up first:I have been using Tree Hut: Shea Sugar Scrub in Original Shea religiously this month.

I got this at Meijer and I have been loving the fresh feeling that it gives after using it. Where I work there are a lot of smells and powders that comes in to contact with my skin, so being able to come home and use this has been amazing! My skin feels refreshed and is noticeably smoother. They have several other scents but I love the original smell. Which leads me to my second favorite this month.

This "mask" has been a lifesaver this month. My face has been extra dehydrated recently (come on weather make up your mind!)Anyways, I put this mask on before I go to bed (2x a week since I have been so dry) and when I wake up my face is refreshed and smooth! For those sensitive to smells this would be best to use for 10-15 minutes then wipe off. The smell this mask has is very similar to the Shea Sugar Scrub which I LOVE!

For makeup this month I have been OBSESSED with the Morphe 35O palette
This palette is perfect for fall and affordable. I have been wearing nothing but this palette all month. The shimmer colors in the palette are definitely my favorite. All the colors are super pigmented and easy to blend! If you love warm colors and can't decide what eyeshadows to go with this fall I highly recommend the 35O palette.

Lastly, I have been using one foundation this month and that is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in shade 1.0.

Now this item is a little pricey but well worth it if you are looking for something more high end. I only need one pump to cover my face and blend down my neck. It is medium to full coverage since it is very buildable. It also blends out beautifully and looks like skin WOOT WOOT no cake face \(^o^)/

I hope you enjoyed my favorites! Until next month (HALLOWEEN EEK EEK EEK)
