New At the Drugstore: Foundations

Hello my lovelies!

Welcome back! Today I have some drugstore foundations that I have be LOVING; Revlon: Colorstay 2-in-1 Compact, L’Oreal: True Match Lumi Chushion, and Maybelline: Dream Velvet.

By now I’m sure you have heard about them or at least seen them in the stores. For the past couple of weeks these three foundations are the only ones I have been wearing!

All three are going to be best for combination skin, two are going to work for oily skin types and one will work with dry (also depending on what floats your boat)

So let’s break these beauties down!

Revlon: Colorstay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup & Concealer in 110 Ivory

I love the idea of having a foundation and concealer in the same package! (perfect for traveling) The foundation and concealer are medium to full coverage. The concealer is a little lighter than the foundation so it will give a subtle highlight.

When I first tried this foundation my skin was really dry (thank you Ohio weather) and after an hour it started to clump in my dry patches. BUTTT I tried it a few days later once my dry patches had disappeared and it wore beautifully with no clumps.

As long as you set the concealer it lasts and doesn’t crease. I like applying this foundation with a beauty blender.

L’Oreal: True Match Lumi Cushion in N2

OMG! This foundation! SO. GOOD. When I first put this on I did a double take; there was no way the perfection that I was putting on my face came from the drugstore! I was convinced that L’Oreal was playing a joke and had put their packaging stickers on a high end foundation.

It’s the real deal guys! This is a medium coverage but can be built up to full coverage. I think people with dry skin will like this as well as combo skin. Oily may like it but I wouldn’t try to build it up too much as it does have a very dewy finish.

I love using my flat top kabuki brush from Sigma (F80) to apply this foundation.  A beauty blender will also do the trick but it will give a more sheer application.

Two notes of warning make sure you close it up tightly as it is a cushion foundation and will dry up and make sure whatever you are using for application is clean; You don’t want bacteria growing.

Maybelline: Dream Matte Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation in 20 Classic Ivory

So I know this foundation has received mixed views but I loved the gel-whipped consistency. I thought my skin looked smooth and even (like velvet!)

It didn’t clump at all and lasted all day! I applied this with a round top kabuki (Morphe M439. A little bit goes a long way. This is definitely full coverage.

Overall I love all of these new foundations but I have to say L’Oreal was the best out of the three. So if you are only going to pick up one I would get that one but you really can’t go wrong with any of them!

Until next time my dears!!
