Maybelline: Master Contour & L'Oreal Infallible Pro- Contour Palette Review

Hello my lovelies!!

Today I have a review on two contour palettes from the drugstore! Anyone else notice that the drugstore is really picking up their game lately! Over the past couple weeks my makeup routine has consisted mostly of drugstore products!

I’m going to talk about the Maybelline: Master Contour Kit and L’oreal: Infallible Pro-Contour Palette

Let’s do this!!!

Maybelline: Mast Contour Kit in light

So I love this palette except for one thing…The bronzer is terrible as a bronzer. It was orange on my pale skin and left streaks on my face. However, it is usable as an eyeshadow! So, you know, that’s good it is useful as something.

The blush is a beautiful pink that blends like a dream! It is perfect for spring and summer! I want to say it is one of my favorite drugstore blushes at the moment!

The highlight is the real breadwinner of this palette though! I find myself grabbing this palette just for the highlight. It is SO PRETTY!

There is no mirror with this palette but the top cover is see through which I like because when I see the product I am more likely to pick it up and use it.

Side note the brush that comes with it is pretty much useless to contour with unless you are Barbie. You might be able to use it for highlighting but I would just use a different brush you might have laying around.

Overall this palette is a big win!

L’Oreal: Infallible Pro Contour in light

Unlike the Maybelline palette the contour in this palette looks very natural and blends easily. It is also buildable!

As for the highlight, if I had to choose I would say Maybelline’s is better but this isn’t bad! If you are looking for a very subtle highlight than this is perfect! I love using this for no makeup-makeup looks.

What is with the weird brushes in these things! The brush that comes with this is the oddest shaped brush I have ever seen. The idea behind its shape is that you can use it to apply your highlight and contour at the same time but I found that it either applied my highlight too high or my contour too low depending on where I placed it. I eventually gave up and used two separate brushes.

There is a mirror in this palette so it makes it perfect for traveling. And the top is see through so you can see the product within.

Another win for the drugstore with this palette!

I love both of these palettes but if I had to pick just one I would go with the Maybelline: Master Contour Palette. That highlight is EVERYTHING to me right now plus the blush is great too!

I hope you guys enjoyed this review!

Let me know in the comments below if you have tries these products out and what your thoughts are them!

As always, until next time!!

  1. I had been wondering about the Maybelline palette! I tend to think of them as more of an eye makeup company, so I get skeptical about their face products. Good to know they're good! I didn't even know L'Oreal had a contour/highlight palette! Definitely something to check out!

  2. Great honest review! I am using the smashbox contour kit at the moment and I absolutely love the bronzer and shadow, however, the highlighter isn't the best and so I am looking for alternatives on that part! :)
