Covergirl: Trunaked Palettes in Nudes, Goldens and Roses Review

Hello Lovelies!! Welcome back!

Today I have a review for you on the Covergirl: Trunaked Palettes. There are three of palettes: Nudes, Goldens, and Roses. I’m sure you have seen then floating around your local drugstore.

The packaging claims that the shades are like a leading $50.00 eye shadow palette (any guesses which one? Cough cough Urban Decay Naked Palettes Cough)

So if your curious about these palettes then keep reading!

NUDES: 805
Colors listed left to right: Buff, Shell, Champagne, Fawn, Mink, Cocoa, Coffee, Sable

This is my favorite palette out of the three. I constantly reach for this one for “no makeup-makeup” looks and for days when I want a quick and subtle smoky eye. This palette is perfect for the working girl who still wants to wear makeup at the office and turn it in to glam at night.
This palette includes four mattes and four shimmers. The black matte has a little fall out so be aware of that when you go to use it.  All of the colors are very pigmented and blend easily. The shimmers look great with fix+ if you are wanting a POP to your look.
There are names for each color. My favorites are Champagne (a champagne shimmer), Fawn (matter light brown), and Mink  (a rose gold mixed with purple shimmer).

GOLDENS: 810
Colors listed left to right: Creme,  Cookie, Sunkissed, Camel, Ginger, Ecru, Sierra

I am a little conflicted by this palette. It is blendable and pigmented just like the Nudes palette but this only comes with 2 mattes and the other 6 colors are metallic/shimmers. The black/brown in this palette could be considered a matte but it does have some glitter in it, it is just very subtle.
There is one dud in this palette and it is the shade Chiffon. It is mostly glitter with little pigmentation.
My Favorites are Sunkissed (metallic pure gold) and Camel (metallic brown/gold)

ROSES: 815
Colors listed left to right:Almond, Champagne, Baby, Rose Gold, Copper Rose, Dusk, Mauvergine, Mousse

Another great palette that is the same quality as the others. However, there are a few things that I wish were different about it. There are only 3 matte colors (the lightest color is the smoothest shadow I ever felt) and there are 5 metallic/shimmers. I wish there had been a darker matte purple. All three matte purples are on the lighter side so it would have been nice to have a darker purple for smoky looks.

Champagne makes an appearance again (it was in the Nudes palette) but it is such a pretty color and one that I use the most that I’m glad I have a backup.

My Favorite colors are Rose Gold (metallic true rose gold) and Copper Rose (matte purple rose) that is wonderful in the crease.

Overall, I think these palettes are amazing. They are some of the best quality I have seen at the drugstore especially from Covergirl!
If you had to only pick up one palette I would highly recommend the Nudes palette. If you love purples or are wanting to dabble in purple looks but not sure where to start the Roses palette is a great beginner palette! The Goldens palette I would pass on unless you are a hardcore gold fan (it is still great quality you are just limited with the lack of mattes)

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of these palettes out and what your favorite looks are with them!

Until next time!

  1. Oh such a gorgeous palette! I should be going for the warmer shades as I have a warm complexion, but can't help love the roses *heart eyes* those shimmers! :D xx
