Hello
Loves!
It’s
been a while! Like almost a year! Wow I’m the worst. Anyways today’s post is to
update you on what has been keeping me away for this long.
Alright
let’s do this!
Vacation/engagement (May 2016)
As I
mentioned in the last post I made... a year ago I mentioned that Nick and I
went to Disney World with some family. While we were there Nick proposed. It
was on our third night there and we were at Magic Kingdom. I had told Nick how
neat the Nighttime spectacular show was especially when Tinkerbell flies by
overhead. Side Bar How dare you Disney for taking away that show! Low key real
mad about that.
Anywaaaays
obviously since I had talked about that show anytime we did any Disney Planning
Nick proposed right after Tink flew over our heads. It truly was magical. I
also have no idea what Nick actually said
to me in that moment but it’s cool because he doesn’t either.
Life after the proposal
Once
we came back home after our vacation life has been going about 100mph!
If you
ever get engaged be prepared for after the congratulations and hugs to be
bombarded with questions. The first question you will get from EVERYONE is
“Have you picked a date yet?” Then
followed by “Have you picked a location?” “What type of dress do you want?”
“Who is going to be your maid of honor?” And they don’t take a breath in
between those questions for you to answer. So good luck! Haha just kidding the
best advice I can give is to just be honest. If you don’t have anything planned
just tell them that because they will ask all those questions again the next
time you see them until the actual wedding date.
Wedding planning
Wedding
planning has been crazy! We have a date picked and a venue where we will have
ALL of our pictures taken. We will also have our ceremony there and reception,
it’s a golf course/banquet hall…Nick picked it. We also have a DJ (hooray for
family friends!) I’ve picked my dress
out! Which I can’t wait to share with you guys (unfortunately it will have to
wait until after the wedding ☹)
Thankfully
with our venue we also get food/drinks included and decorations so we don’t
have any extra expenses going out for that. I have ordered/received my wedding
flowers. I decided to go with synthetic flowers for cost effectiveness plus I
wanted to be able to see my bouquet years from now. I went with LilyofAngeles
from Etsy. She does AMAZING work!
The
last big thing we need to take care of is our photographer. I will have an entire
post possibly a series about all of my wedding planning. Let me know in the
comments if you would like to see a series or just one post.
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
So
obviously the next step after getting engaged was to buy a house. We wanted to
get a house before all of the expenses of the wedding hit which would make it
difficult to find a place. Plus, we didn’t want the stress of planning a
wedding and trying to find our forever home! I am definitely going to do a
series of posts on the house. To give you a sneak peak I’m pretty sure this
house hasn’t been updated since 1970 so there is LOTS to talk about.
We adopted two kittens!
Both
Nick and I came from homes with animals. Unfortunately, those animals could not
come with us. My cat, Mowmow, is 13/14 and WAAAAY too attached to my dad and
Nick’s Dog, Brutus, who is 7/8 years old is WAAAAY too attached to his parents.
It would have been cruel to bring them to our new house. I’m not sure either of
them would have survived the stress and separation anxiety. Anyways Nick and I
decided that we needed to start our own family so we adopted Buffy!
Buffy
is a Maine Coon mix. We adopted her through Fourgotten Paws. She is so loving
and playful! The first week we had her she required at least 5 hours of play
time and if you tried to stop too soon she would let you know play time wasn’t
up.
A few weeks after we adopted Buffy, we
realized that Buffy needed a little sister to keep her company during the day.
As I was browsing Fourgotten Paws website I noticed that another Maine Coon mix
kitten has been listed that looked just like Buffy. The organization happened
to know Buffy’s exact birth date and so I did the math and the kitten’s
birthday was the same date. We e-mailed them and they got back to us that
Fluffy (originally named Acadia) was Buffy’s littermate but she already had an
application in for adoption. Nick and I were disheartened to hear that but we
knew if it was meant to happen, it would.
PLOT
TWIST the next morning I got an e-mail saying that the application fell through
and if we wanted Fluffy she was ours. And that is how we ended up with two
kittens!
I’m so
excited that things have finally settled down so that I can start getting new
content to you guys!
Let me
know what you want to see on this blog. I’ve got a couple posts scheduled but I
would love to know what you guys want to see the most.
Until
next time
xoxo

Um, I think you have every excuse not to have blogged recently. Congrats on the house, the engagement - and, most importantly, those beautiful KITTENS! Looking forward to seeing more of them <3
