Hey
all!
Sorry
it took forever getting this unboxing up! I have been crazy busy with the start
of this semester. On my twitter I mentioned that I am going back full time this
semester versus being part time. I am also working full time so my schedule is
pretty jammed pack!
So
this month’s box the top says “2016: The year of ____” and it came with several
different stickers. Fearlessness is the
word that stuck out the most to me! So that will be my goal this year in my
blog and life to strive to be fearless!
Let’s
get in to the box!
Clean: Cashmere
I feel
like every box recently I have gotten a perfume! I don’t mind them but I know I
definitely checked the no more than 6 times a year. This scent isn’t as bad as
last months! To me is smells like fresh, clean clothes. I haven’t worn it yet
so I’m not sure how it smells once it has reacted with the warmth of my skin.
There
are some perfumes out there that do not like me! I end up smelling like B.O.
which is not attractive! Anyone else have this issue?
Anyways
the full size of this depends on the amount you get but it ranges from $20-$69.
Eyeko: Fat Liquid
Liner
This
was one of the products I picked for my box this month. I have gotten the brand
before in a box last year. I ended up doing a review on Eyeko London Mascara: Lengthen & Straighten which spoiler
alert I wasn’t impressed with it.
I
picked this because I wanted to give the brand a second chance…I wish I hadn’t.
I love
liquid liners and a larger liner is something that I do not have in my
collection. This liner was super patchy which was only made worse by its
size. Its size made it super hard to
control where I wanted to fill in the missing parts and ended up in a hot mess.
It didn’t stay at all and by the end of the night it looked like I had been
watching the saddest movie ever!
This
is a full size product that retails for $16.00 but I don’t think it is worth
that at all.
Number 4: Super
Comb Prep & Protect
The
best comparison I can give for this product is to It’s a 10 miracle leave in
conditioner except this doesn’t do 10 things. It had a weird scent when it is
sprayed but disappears after a few minutes in the hair.
The
full size is $32.00 which I don’t think it is worth it. This barely detangled
my hair and I didn’t notice any difference in the texture or color of my hair
after using it. There are better products out there that don’t cost as much! So
don’t waste your money without doing your homework!
Supergoop: Daily
Correct CC Cream SPF 35- Light/Medium
I was
really excited about this CC cream since I have only tried BB creams before. I
liked that it had an SPF in it which is always useful in the summer but is also
important to apply in the winter time. The sun can still cause damage during
the winter! This CC cream is supposed to protect from UVA, UVB and infrared-A
rays.
Unfortunately,
this light/medium was too dark for my skin right now. It felt really nourishing
and hydrating when I swatched it on my hand. The sample size was itty bitty
though so I will probably get to wear it twice maybe three time. The full size
is $32.00
Vasanti:
BrightenUP! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
If
this looks familiar that’s because it is. I received this in my IPSY bag in
October. You can find out what else I got that month here.
Being
100% honest I didn’t end up trying this cleanser. I finally have my skincare
routine in a place where I’m happy with my skin but I will definitely keep it
on hand in case something in my routine stops working. You can get the full
size of this for $34.
Honestly,
I am really disappointed in my January Birchbox. I think the only thing that I
TRULY enjoyed was the box itself (the stickers got me).
If you
have been keeping up with my box showdowns each month you will know that
Birchbox has yet to win one. Obviously they did not win this month but that
doesn’t mean that I don’t think this box isn’t worth it!
I love
Birchbox as a whole. When you review your products you get points that go to
your account which you can use to purchase items on their site! I’ve gotten A
LOT of my favorites by doing this at no extra cost to me. For example, 3 of the
5 products from my (November Box) I have purchased the full size of it using
those points! And I’m waiting on the dry shampoo to get back in stock so that I
can get the full size of that too!
I
actually recommend this box to my friends when the ask which subscription to
choose from. Most of the time the samples are worth it and there is a wide
range as well. If you were thinking about subscribing you can use my referral
link below.
My last unboxing will be my Boxycharm Box!
Until next time my lovelies!

I felt like that last year after about six months of having a Birchbox subscription which is why I cancelled. I feel like Birchbox doesn't customize the boxes as well as it should.

Samantha,
DeleteI agree I feel like they could do a better job of customizing the boxes but I do like that they allow you to pick one sample that you want in your box or the option to pick the guest Editor box.
Surprisingly I have gotten most of my favorites from Birchbox by choosing the guest box.

I received the Vasanti: BrightenUP! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator a few months ago and LOVED it, I really should buy the full size product! Also, those Number 4 products do WONDERS! I love when I get something from them in my box. Great reviews!

Well I'll have to give the Vasanti a try but I used the Number 4 for a few days and it wasn't doing anything for my hair :(
